Youth Girls Strength Program – Term 2 holidays

A new La Trobe University research project is aiming at building confidence and improving participation in strength training for teenage girls.

Facilitated and led by La Trobe University Sport and Exercise Science lecturer, Anthea Clarke, the E.M Power (Exploration, Movement, Power) will see a group of teenage girls take part in their first introduction to strength training.

The second iteration of the program will run in the second week of the upcoming school holidays (8 – 12th July) and it targeted towards girls aged 14 to 16 years.

In addition to receiving individualised coaching across the five day program to be held in the upcoming school holidays from 8th – 12th July, participants will get to make new friends, train at the Football Victoria Home of the Matildas and La Trobe Sport Performance Hub and learn to program their own sessions. They will also receive education on nutrition, female physiology and good recovery practices from elite female athlete guest speakers and expert presenters.
