Our Year 5 students enjoyed an exciting WildAction incursion today, discovering the wonders of Australian native wildlife through close encounters and hands-on learning.
The session featured an incredible line-up of native animals, including 鈥淟ola鈥 the red kangaroo joey, a tawny frogmouth, boobook owl, baby freshwater crocodile, black-headed python, freshwater turtle, green tree frog, tree goanna, shingleback lizard, and 鈥淏lossom鈥, an adult grey-headed flying fox.
One of the highlights was meeting and gently holding a tiny adult mountain pygmy possum 鈥 a critically endangered species with only around 2,000 left in the wild.
Through these up-close experiences, students learned about each animal人妖天堂app classification, adaptations, habitats, and diets, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges facing Australia人妖天堂app wildlife. The incursion not only built confidence and curiosity but also inspired our students to become caring advocates for conservation and the environment.
