Al Siraat celebrated the Year 7 – 11 Special End-of-Year Assemblies on Monday, 8 December, recognising student achievement, academic effort, leadership and community service.
The program opened with an Acknowledgement of Country and a beautiful Qur’an recitation by Muhammad Shahim (Year 9) and Zaid Omer (Year 11). Mr Suffian Amin and Principal Mr Fazeel commended students for their resilience and commitment.
Academic Endeavour Awards were presented, along with recognition for Values in Action (VIA) contributions:
• 2 students – 100 hours• 30 students – 50 hours• 22 students – 30 hours
Tournament of Minds certificates went to Year 8 participants: Hafsah Tanvir, Amaya Israr, Maheen Maozam, Lana Zeitoume, Sakeena Makbool, Salena Bhatti and Rushda Sheza.
82 students took part in the Australian Mathematics Competition, with certificates awarded by Ms Raeesah.
Students who represented ASC at the My Vote, My Voice forum were acknowledged by Robyn Byrne (NCWV).
The Young Digital Mentorship Program recognised Year 10 and 11 students preparing to support our community next year.
Additional highlights included:
• Amani Ashour and Karima Khan – Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars• Halimah Sheikh – ISV Poetry Competition finalist• Nawal Jaleel – 2025 IVET Excellence Awards finalist• Fatin Chowdhury, Elyas Mabrok, Karima Khan and Khaled El Nachar: ADF Awards.
The assembly featured a lively performance by The Sound Wavez Drumming Group, celebrated Interfaith Program students and recognised Year 9 NAPLAN achievements.
A special 2025 School Journey Video concluded the event, followed by a Closing Dua by Sheikh Waseem.
