What does the future look like? For our Year 9 girls, it came through hands-on experiences, inspiring conversations and career discoveries at the Trade & Tech Fit Expo 2026, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and organised by the Victorian Department of Education.
The expo brought together thousands of students, educators and industry professionals to showcase opportunities in trade, technology and STEM. Throughout the day, students stepped out of their comfort zones and engaged in interactive activities designed to challenge perceptions and broaden career aspirations.
鈥淎nd say, 鈥楳y Lord, increase me in knowledge.鈥欌 (Qur鈥檃n 20:114)
From operating advanced technology and exploring engineering concepts to speaking with professionals in emerging industries, students were encouraged to think beyond traditional pathways. The experience highlighted growing opportunities for young women in sectors shaping the future.
A highlight was meeting women working in fields such as construction, engineering, robotics, aviation, digital technology and renewable energy. Their stories of perseverance and achievement inspired students to consider possibilities they may not have previously imagined.
As Muslims, we are encouraged to seek knowledge, develop our talents and contribute positively to society. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: 鈥淭he best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.鈥 (Hadith)
This reminds students that education and career success are not only personal achievements but also opportunities to serve communities and make a meaningful difference.
At Al Siraat, we are committed to helping students make informed decisions about their future pathways. Experiences such as Trade & Tech Fit connect classroom learning with real-world opportunities, fostering curiosity, confidence and ambition.
As our Year 9 girls returned, they brought back more than brochures and souvenirs; they returned with new ideas, inspiration and a greater belief in their potential. May our students continue to explore, learn and dream big as they prepare to become the leaders, innovators and changemakers of the future.
